Honda Mobilio MPV makes its Indian debut at 2014 Auto Expo

Honda Mobilio MPV makes its Indian debut at 2014 Auto ExpoThe 2014 Indian Auto Expo has been a special one for Honda, as they had so many products to be unveiled at the event. Out of all the products displayed by Honda today, the new generation Honda Jazz and Honda Mobilio MPV were the ones for which everybody was waiting, since they are India-bound products and will be the first ones to be launched.

Based on Honda's popular Brio hatchback platform, the new Mobilio MPV looks very young and sporty. Wearing the new headlights, aggressive hood, oval fog lamps with black plastic casing, bold horizontal slat chrome grille and other styling elements, the front fascia of the MPV resembles to the Amaze compact sedan. However, the bold side creases run down after the B-pillar distinguish the MPV from its younger siblings.

The 15-inches wheels further enhance the car's side profile. The rear has also received a brilliant revision with new tail lamps cluster and rear windscreen. The aerodynamic lines running towards the rear to tail lamps, add more appeal to its appearance. The wheelbase of MPV is increased by 245mm, which is now measured around 2650mm.

The new Mobilio MPV looks very identical to the Amaze, as both the cars share interiors as well. However, the MPV being a more premium product, when compared to the Amaze, has better fit and finish with quality material.

The MPV features three-spoke steering wheel, air conditioner, twin dials and music system. The foldable second row has good leg space, and can accommodate three adults without any squeezing effect. The third row is good for two passengers only. The MPV offers a good boot space as well.

Honda Mobilio MPV comes powered with a 117bhp, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 98bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit, which are used for the Amaze. The new Honda Mobilio MPV will directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia in India.
