Nokia, which recently released its first Android smartphone series at MWC 2014, is now said to host another event on 19 April 2014.
The event date has not been confirmed by the Finnish manufacturer, but was instead tweeted by @evleaks, "Nokia event April 19th?". However as various rumours indicate, the event (if real) would probably focus on Windows Phone 8.1 handsets. The OS update is also expected to be unveiled in the same time frame.
The new Windows Phone 8.1 handsets are likely to include previously rumoured devices, namely theNokia Lumia 1820, Lumia 1525 and Lumia 1520V. The Lumia 1520V is said to be the mini version of the flagship Lumia 1520 model. The announcement of the alleged Nokia device codenamed 'Martini' is also reportedly on the cards.
In addition, we make an educated guess that the firm might introduce the recently spotted Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 smartphones, which just might be the handsets thought to be codenamed-'Moneypenny' and 'Goldfinger'. These two smartphones were rumoured back in November 2013 and might make an appearance at the rumoured event. It was also reported that the Goldfinger would come with Nokia's '3D Touch' technology, which the company has supposedly been working on for a long time.
The report suggests that the rumoured '3D Touch' feature uses device's sensors to detect interactions that are off-the-glass. The Nokia Goldfinger is said to come hand gesture support which will let users navigate on a phone without touching the display, while other gestures under consideration include flipping and scrolling. Both the devices are speculated to be the first ones to run the upcoming WP8.1.
Also possible to be unveiled at the event are the rumoured high-end Nokia X Android devices, though this seems unlikely so close to the launch of its first Android devices at MWC 2014.
